—Ticknology presented science-backed advice about what we really need to know about ticks, how to manage them in our yards without harmful side effects to us, our pets, and pollinators with experts Joshua Ginsberg, president of the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, Moses Cucura, entomologist and superintendent for the Suffolk County Department of Public Works, Division of Vector Control, and Perfect Earth Project founder and landscape designer Edwina von Gal. The most effective way to protect yourself from ticks is to “spray yourself, check yourself.” As Dr. Ginsberg said, “Conservation, diversity, and being a good steward of the habitat is critical if we want to be healthy.” (Watch the full talk here and look at more photos from the event.)
